One of the first tenets of blogging is blog what you know (I'm not sure what the other tenets are, or where they live, or who wrote them ... but hang in there with me).
I've neglected Dramaturge at Home ... poor forgotten blog child. Pushed aside in favour of the bread-and-butter of MNIK and the glitz of my new SL blog. I use it as a testing ground for new widgets. What further humiliation could I subject it to?
That's right. Wedding blog.
OK, not really a *wedding* blog. I am *not* blogging the wedding.
But in surfing and reading and searching and being distracted by pretty colours, you find things that might be useful. So, I thought I'd chronicle them here.
You'll note the widget on the right (feed readers, you're gonna have to click thru .. just this once). bride.com has thoughtfully provided a countdown to Armageddon wedding day. As well as a "helpful" quiz so I can determine what kind of "bride" I am. "Gay bride" wasn't a choice. I could only be slotted into one of three categories: Modern, Trendy, Classic. Modern won. Which surprised me a little. I expected trendy .. just because I love a good fad. But then, there were only five questions. We're not talking deep analysis here. Anyway, these festive widgets were provided on bride.com's MySpace page. They have 6032 friends at last count. And I read this crazy stat ... something like 72% of brides have a MySpace page.
I recently discovered "Outblush" .. a festive web mag "for girls who like to shop". I sub to their feed and was pointed to some very nice, very expensive wedding invites. From KenzieKate ... you can see "The Manhattan" above ... she has some very beautiful crafted invite "suites" - they include response cards, envelopes, and other items. Even though I can't afford her invites, I've added KenzieKate to my new wedding blogroll ... right there, below the widgets. She showcases all kinds of drool-worthy wedding fashion, bling and accoutrement on her blog.
Other link of note: venuesource.ca. It certainly doesn't include *all* venue options in Toronto, but, it does have a nifty search feature that lets me look only for venues that allow outside catering. Nice.
Stay tuned for further wedding updates and interesting links.
