After a Fashion

Tutorials & Guides for Newbies

We've found a number of really helpful tutorials for new residents of Second Life.  Whether you're looking for tips on modifying your avatar or just how to get something out of your inventory, you'll find this collection of tutorials helpful.  Many thanks to the generous SL residents who have written these!

Proportion and Second Life Models
A great article by Alaska Metropolitan.  She describes in great detail "normal" RL proportions in an effort to help residents get the tweaking on their own avatar correct.

Modifying Prim Hair
Most of the hair you will wear in SL is prim hair.  And sometimes it needs adjusting. Follow the amazing step-by-step in this tutorial from Natalia Zelmanov, a mermaid hair and fashion designer in SL.

Keeping Your Inventory Under Control
Keeping your inventory in SL can be tricky.  Imagine your inbox, only worse.  Izzy has written a really great guide on how to organize folders and subfolders to keep clothes, hair, jewelry and other objects nice and tidy!
